College application consultants/editors should have a degree in writing, preferably at the Masters level, and should be great storytellers as this job entails heavy story-structuring and editing. Experience in college essay writing is useful, but writing talent and command of narrative win out. Along with their resume, applicants should submit a writing sample (think short stories, excerpts from novels, creative nonfiction) and will be asked to edit a sample essay. Please limit samples to ten pages or less. There is opportunity to work from home, as well as in person (if interested and available).
