    Job Details

    The Medical Transcriptionist is responsible for timely and accurate transcription of medical dictation and correspondence. This will include:

    – Opportunity to work from home!
    – Transcribing edical records, reports, and correspondence within the 24-48 hour guidelines.
    – Proofing and utilizing spell check for accuracy of transcribed information.
    – Retrieving, printing and editing progress notes from transcription service computer.
    – Performs other duties as requested by supervisor.

    Requirements:

    – Graduation of a two-year Medical Vocational Training Program or one-year diploma in Medical Transcription.
    – Current AAMT certification desired.
    – Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
    – Follows the AAMT Standards of Style.
    – Ability to accurately maintain a minimum of 150 lines per hour and 98% accuracy of transcription.

    Some responsibilities include:

    The responsibilities of this job include, but are not limited to, the following:
    Accurately transcribing physician’s dictation of medical office visits, including incoming correspondence and x-rays;
    Proofreading and correcting documents for spelling, grammar, and physician errors.

    Minimum education and professional requirements include, but are not limited to, the following:
    High school graduate or equivalent;
    At least three years of medical transcription experience in a hospital or specialty setting (preferred);
    Must be self-motivated and self-disciplined in order to work at home office without direct supervision;
    Must be able to accurately type more than 65 words per minute;
    Must be able to meet a minimum line count of 7000 lines per week;
    Must have basic computer skills with a firm understanding of Windows, Microsoft Word, and Internet Explorer.
