Medical Clinic Biller and Data Entry with Father Joe’s Villages in San Diego, CA

Some responsibilities include:

• Input patient data for insured patient visits into medical software program
• Submit electronic and/or paper claims to Medicare, Medicare HMO, Medi-Cal and Medi-Cal HMO including Optum Health
• Review progress notes and coding adequacy for billing purposes
• Responsible for following up on denied claims in a timely manner
• Compile patient information as needed for FQHC reports
• Review EOB and following up on unprocessed/unrecorded claims
• Verify insurance eligibility and requirements are met per patient prior to submitting claims
• Post payments from insurance carriers
• Check Medicare and Medi-Cal websites regularly and keep supervisor updated on important changes in carrier rules and regulations
• Use the resources, supplies, and equipment of the Organization in a cost-effective, safe, and responsible manner
• Promote and maintain positive communications and working relationships among staff, volunteers, and patients
• Attend staff meetings
• Perform other reasonably related business duties as assigned by immediate supervisor and other management as required
• Work with supervisor to identify trends in credit balance reports
