Regional Recruiter for Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA

Some responsibilities include:

VCU’s Office of Admissions is in search of a part-time recruiter in Southern California. The recruiter will work from home and will assist with the coordination of recruitment strategies for new students in targeted areas. Serving as a university liaison, the Regional Recruiter will develop relationships in target markets, attend college fairs, visit area high schools, send emails and make phone calls to prospective students. They will also assist with the coordination of recruitment and yield events and provide customer service and information about the university to prospective students, their parents, guidance counselors and other constituencies.
Required Qualifications

-Demonstrated ability to work independently with little direct supervision
-Excellent oral and written communication skills
-Experience with public speaking, presenting a strong comfort level with making presentations to large groups of people
-Ability to work with a diverse population
-Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to multitask
-Ability to use office automation including word processing, presentation and spreadsheet software
-Ability to meet deadlines
-Ability to provide excellent customer service
-Willingness to travel to VCU annually for training
-Driver’s license and valid car insurance
-Undergraduate degree and equivalent experience
Preferred Qualifications

-Knowledge of VCU programs
-Knowledge of assigned recruitment territory and targeted demographics in that area
-Experience in college admissions or experience in advising high school students in the college application process
