We are seeking a Payroll Associate to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing for a National Non-Profit. The Payroll Associate will be responsible for payroll preparation/processing, tax reporting, benefits-records administration, payroll systems maintenance, payroll strategy, employee support, planning and communications. Position is work from home and $40K per year.

Job Requirements

Compiles and records employee time and payroll data.
Compute and post wages and deductions or prepare paychecks.
Compile payroll data such as garnishments, vacation time, insurance and 401(k) deductions.
Reviews time sheet information for completeness and accuracy.
Contacts various department leads for questions or discrepancies
Processes transfer of payroll data to Payroll System.
Compiles internal management reports from payroll system software.
Maintains payroll information
Updates payroll records by reviewing and approving changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, and job titles, and department/ division transfers.
Reconciles bi-weekly payroll and resolves discrepancies.
Provides payroll information by answering questions and requests.
Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
Maintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Qualifications

Bachelors/Associates Degree or Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification
Minimum of 1-2 years Payroll experience
Experience with Paychex or related system required
Access to home office and home office equipment (computer/laptop/phone/fax/printer)
