Work at Home Controversy

ABC reports on a company called oDesk that can get information from an employee or Independent Contractor working from home for a company hiring them to work from home. Some people feel that it's violating the employee's/IC's privacy. Yet, others say oDesk is a great way to make sure there aren't any discrepancies between a company and someone who works for them at a remote location. And that it's a great way for a company to be able to know how much and employee/IC really works, etc.(Source)

I think something like oDesk is fine just as long as the employee/IC knows that all sorts of information from their computer will be seen by the company(ies) that they work for. There should be some sort of disclosure by a company to let people know they will use oDesk to monitor them. And then it's up to the individual whether or not they still want to begin working for the company.

I'm an honest person, but I don't think I'd like oDesk on my computer. It seems creepy. So I just wouldn't work for a company that used it.
