High-Tech Work at Home in Florida

The Orlando Sentinel reports on high-tech workers who telecommute and work at home.

One man, Bert FitzGibbons, was able to move to Florida and work from home after he told his boss he was quitting his job and moving from New York to Florida. But instead of letting FitzGibbons quit, his boss told him to stay with the company and made arrangements for FitzGibbons to be able to move to Florida and work for the company remotely.

A consultant interviewed by The Orlando Sentinel says that nearly 12% of Florida's salaried workers, about 850,000 people, do most of their work from home.(Source)
