New York State has a report about what to watch out for during these tough financial times. Things on the list include: Credit & debt management scams, loans that are questionable, work from home scams, scams for jobs that are online and investment scams.

The article also lists top 10 ways consumers can prevent from being scammed. Some of those ways include: Checking your credit report, never paying an upfront fee if someone claims you've won a lottery or sweepstakes, and thinking carefully before you accept any loans, jobs, etc.(Source)
