Filing Taxes and Your Home Office

Filing Taxes and Your Home Office

KGET.com reports on how a person can get tax deductions - deducting home office expenses, etc - when filing taxes with the IRS.

The report states that if a person's home is their main place of business and/or employment, they can get deductions on things like mortgage payments and utilities.

However, a person first has to prove to the IRS that their home is their main place of business and/or employment before getting those deductions.(Source)

My main place of work is my home, and I do file that with the IRS. It does save me some money. In my opinion it's one of the many great things about working from home.
